The TRANS-CANADA TRAIL runs right through Cookstown, we have set up a gazebo just off to the side of it; a great place for a picnic!
We host several fun events for our town, which is great for bringing in new faces to our businesses.
We are home of the famous WING DING! This event has been going on for over 30 years!
It is the largest community wide yard sale in all of Ontario, possibly Canada. It was in the Guinness book of world records.
People come from all over to attend this event! We usually have an average of 10,000 visitors or more. We also provide a large vendors area. Cookstown is the home of many amazing Artists! We have a local Theatre, where they put on fantastic shows. We have shops where the owners, find and re-finish items and furniture.

Antiques & Shopping
Cookstown is a very old village with historical significance. We offer a self guided Historical walk via a brochure. You can find this brochure at the Chamber Office. It takes you through popular history on certain buildings within town; a nice way to learn about our Village and a great way to spend the afternoon.

Kids
There are tons of after-school programs offered at our local Library for different ages and interests. They also offer a story time 2x a week for little ones, and The Early Years centre visits our library once a month or so. Once a year the library hosts a Splash Pad Picnic.
Our school is amazing! Many involved parents, volunteers, enthusiastic staff, and a Gifted Program for Students!
There are many home day cares and one through the School as well.

Town of Innisfil has an ice rink for the kids behind the Library in the winter.
The Cookstown Curling Club is now offering Youth Curling lessons.
Innisfil YMCA is 15 minutes from Cookstown.
